Savannah Outen (b. October 14, 1992) is an American singer who gained popularity on YouTube. Outen began posting videos of herself singing on YouTube in March 2007 along with Angelica Vasilcov, Esmee Denters and Mia Rose.
Outen's first video was a cover of the song "Listen" from the motion picture "Dream Girls". At the request of viewers, she began posting videos regularly. In Fall 2007[vague], Outen signed an exclusive management and recording contract with Keith Thomas of Levosia Entertainment.
On May 31st, 2008, Outen's first single, "Goodbyes", was featured on Radio Disney's Music Mailbag. She received a 95% pick and on June 2nd, the song was added to the Radio Disney playlist. Within two weeks, it debuted at #28 on the Top 30 Countdown, charting for 18 straight weeks and peaking at #5, making it the highest rated song an unsigned artist has ever achieved on Radio Disney.
Outen removed her cover songs from YouTube on March 17, 2009,due to concerns over copyright violations but returned them a short time later.
On April 3rd, 2009, the music video to her second single, "If You Only Knew" was posted on YouTube. It was directed by Mason Dixon, who also directed her first music video for "Goodbyes", and starred Disney Channel's Tony Oller (As The Bell Rings) as "Cas". It has since garnered more than 1.7 million views.
So far, Outen has had more than 4.8 million channel views and over 170,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. She currently has 41 videos.
Outen's hometown is Hillsboro, Oregon, in the Portland metropolitan area. There she attended Century High School, but as of 2009 is home schooled by her parents Barry and Lisa Outen. At age 12, Outen made it to the finals of "America's Best New Talent." She has been invited to perform the national anthem at various sporting events for teams including the Oakland Raiders, LA Dodgers, Anaheim Angels, Seattle Mariners, Seattle SuperSonics, Seattle Storm, and the Oregon State Beavers.
Her first official concert was at the "Ultrasonic Super Fantastic Kids Day" event in New Jersey.Outen's song "Goodbyes" was released in 2008 on iTunes.She wrote "Goodbyes" during her middle-school graduation.
"So What" was recorded for the season 4 of the FOX series , The Simple Life.
